Results of TPA Meeting – April 12, 2007

The committee with whom we met consisted of:

1. Mayor Inderwies
2. Deputy Mayor Favre
3. City Manager Corea
4. City Auditor Costello

Although the committee chose not to adopt any of the TPA suggestions, amendments to the budget may still be proposed by any member of the governing body at the April 16th Council meeting before formal adoption. Any proposed amendment receiving a majority vote could impact the final budget.

The TPA remains adamant it their opposition to the hiring of a new policeman.

The committee stated that they will diligently pursuing new sources of revenue, which would not affect the 2007 budget. It would be applied against the 2008 budget, resulting in additional surplus.

It was pointed out that tax decreases at the County level and in the regional school funding formula will result in the Cape May City 2007 budget remaining the same as in 2006.
