Educational Services

Educational services are the largest draw on property tax revenues in the City of Cape May. How that revenue is raised and spent is and should be the highest priority to every taxpayer in Cape May. To this end, the Education Committee will examine such issues as the viability of maintaining an elementary school, the opportunities for regional and other cooperative agreements for more efficient schools, the lack of adequate federal financial support for the education of federal dependents, and the gross inequity of the current regional school funding arrangements.

The Committee will collect and analyze data related to these and other issues. This analysis will include the present and proposed budgets, the effectiveness of services, proposed legislative and administrative initiatives and other related areas. The committee will also prepare regular reports to the Full Board of Directors and, when warranted, will make recommendations to the Board for policies and positions relating Educational Services.
