City Manager

  • Convention Hall Survey out with TPA Winter Newsletter mailing
  • Estimated mailing mid February
  • Budget – introduced March 6 – adopt April 17
  • Tax – possible 4% increase in a tax rate
  • Significant impact on City
  • Difficult year next year (2008)
  • Only place to go would be personnel
  • $13 million budget - $234,711. 00 increase over last year
  • Regional School Tax
  • Sales versus assessed value

Audience Question

  • Questioned overtime salaries for police – down $30,000.00 over last couple of years

TPA Board Member - Dennis Crowley

  • What new revenues are we going to find; Revenue generation

Committee Reports:

Dennis Crowley – Educational Committee

  • January 11 School Board meeting very productive
  • Awaiting their input – success of educational services – funding
  • Widen table of discussion with CG & legislators
  • CMES – 167 students (up 13%)
  • 130 federal dependents (housing & CG)
  • 29 students (taxpayers)
  • 2 tuition students
  • 2 sending & receiving
  • Shifting enrollment effects the management

Hugh McCauley – Revitalization Committee and Convention Hall Subcommittee

  • Discussed subcommittees – Convention Hall
  • Survey questionnaires – too many meetings, too much to be mailed out

Bill Murray – Revitalization Committee – Parking and Traffic Subcommittee

  • Committee moving along – making recommendations – feels subcommittees are doing their jobs
  • Rhodeside – coming back on Feb. 14th evening
  • Feb 16th meeting with Revitalization Committee

Hugh McCauley – COAH Committee

  • Council has heard nothing more

Kate Wyatt/Dagmer Chew – Technology Committee

  • Website update almost complete
  • Survey Monkey Pilot – test and get opinions on use to Board Members

Old Business:

  • Dennis – April 1 we should be public with our recommendations of budget
     
  • Tony - Made a motion – TPA present a statement of its position on items necessary to the budget
     
  • Motion approved – motion called

New Business:

  • Expanded mailing Labels (county) – Bob Steenrod processing
     
  • Kate contacted Steve Todd to be Chairman for “Citizen of the Year” Committee
