President's Remarks:
Welcome to TPA Meeting - Kate will not be at October meeting.
The City Manager - Lou Corea
- Spoke about FEMA and 5% reduction of Flood Insurance.
- Mall lawsuit will be heard week of Sept. 23, 2007. Hoping to
have a determination before October 2, 2007.
- Bids to be opened October 2, 2007. Hoping to start work in
November 2007.
- Beach Tag sting was done to protect the taxpayers. Beach
revenues up approximately 4% to $1.7 million.
- Beach Patrol Building being built with Beach Utility Funds.
- Beach Patrol Contract – pay scale in upper half of county Beach
Patrols.
- Presentation October 2, 2007 for Mall and Convention Hall at
Council meeting.
- October 11, 2007 Roadside and Halwell presentation at 7:00 PM at
Convention Hall.
- General comments on engineer to oversee Convention Hall
construction.
- SIDS and Bids scheduled for discussion at November 2007 workshop
meeting.
- Room tax revenue up $40,000 thru August 2007.
Public Session
- Audience Member asked about architect’s contract, will
Convention Hall be a “green” project, mall funding, and cost of
Roadside and Halwell Vision Plan. Commented on openness of Mayor and
Council, their not answering questions in public and need for check
and balances on this project.
- Audience Member commented that 8% of total contract is for
engineer and architect. Asked who will pay the Clerk of the Works.

- Scandarella hired to review State Report on Affordable Housing.

- General discussion on number personnel for size of city.

4. Kevin Maloney spoke about Capital Accumulation Plan (CAP)

6. K. Maloney & J. Rauch to work on TPA’s positions on city
improvements for October 2nd Council meeting.
7. J. Wichterman to get City Auditor, Leon Costello as guest speaker
for December 2007 meeting.
